JOBS! New Program for IIT Alumni and Employers

Posted September 23, 2006 by amit
Categories: IIT Delhi, Pan IIT

IIT Delhi Excellence Foundation is pleased to announce a new program, to bring IIT Alumni Job Seekers close to Employers that value them. We have joined hands with Yahoo! HotJobs, to give Employers a 10% discount on job posts targeted to the IIT Alumni, and have created a special job board for Job Seekers.

Employers

Get 10% off when you post jobs to HotJobs. Include a special code in your job description, and the jobs will get automatically marketed to the IIT Alumni community!

Great! What do I do?

  • Browse over to our Home Page, and click on the Yahoo! HotJobs logo to start. Use the coupon code mentioned to get your discount!
  • Once you have a job description to post, include the code ‘HJIIT10’ somewhere in your post. Most employers add it to the bottom of their job descriptions.

That’s it! YES – IT’S THAT SIMPLE!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • So I get to post for 10% less, and am able to target the valuable IIT Alumni. What’s the catch?
    • No catch. As an Alumni Service organization, we’re simply trying to get Employers that value IITians, closer to our Alumni looking for jobs!
  • What do you mean by ‘automatically marketed to the IIT Alumni’?
    • We will advertise this program, and the job listings generated, to the IIT Delhi Alumni in the Bay Area to start with. Other presidents, nationally, have expressed interest in this program, and will sign on as we evaluate the response.
  • Who else is participating?
    • Even before the formal launch of this program, Yahoo! and NetApp have signed up to advertise their jobs. Check them out!
  • Do I have to target the IIT Alumni, or can I just avail of the 10% discount?
    • You’re welcome to use the discount without targeting any IIT Alumni. For example, you can choose to post 100 jobs through this program, and only target 10 of them to the IIT Alumni. This is perfectly fine!
  • What if I already have postings in HotJobs?
    • Well, you won’t be able to avail of the code for existing jobs, but you can still target these jobs to IITians. Simply edit the job description, and add the coupon code ‘HJIIT10’ to the listing.

Job Seekers

What makes these job listing different? It lists job listings from companies that have gone the extra step to target you. This means they’re more likely to look at your resume (as an IIT Alumni) more carefully. You already have a well-wisher at that company – and that can only be good news for you when you apply!

Great! What do I do?

  • Browse over to our Home Page, and click on ‘IIT Jobs’ to get the list of all open positions (a few recently listed jobs are always featured on our homepage).
  • Apply!

That’s it! YES – IT’S THAT SIMPLE!
